Recently, acoustic black holes (ABH), a new passive structural modification approach to control vibration and noise from mechanical structures have been developed and studied. This preliminary study presents the work on the influence of acoustical black holes on the vibration and sound field of beams. The simulation and experimental results show that the parameters m and a in the power law profile have the effect of changing the vibration behavior on the cantilever beam vibration. Also, the study has shown the vibration concentration effect of ABH, which can be used to control the vibration.
