Dilution’s issue during dry machining have raised the interest’s environmental researchers and engineers. In fact, the sampling of dust emitted during dry machining was a serious problem for air quality evaluation at the workplace. Furthermore, the best sampling of fine and ultrafine particles produced during material cutting, passed through the dilution of high particle concentration (number, specific surface and mass). The aim of this paper was the specific study of dilution process during dry machining. The Navier-Stokes’s equations and CFD k-? model were used in COMSOL Multiphysics to obtain the best dilution with alternative where the inlet and outlet jet flow had the same direction. The experimental setup confirmed the mean value of dilution factor with 95% confidence.
