Circulated Fluidized Bed

This is model of a circulated fluidized bed, which is a very common apparatus in the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing industry for solid-fluid contacting. The dispersed phase, consisting of solid spherical particles, is fluidized by air and transported upwards through a vertical riser. Upon reaching the outlet, the dispersed phase is reinjected through vertical slots at the bottom of the bed. The solid and fluid phases are modeled using the Euler-Euler Model.
