This model shows how to implement an anisotropic hyperelastic material for modeling collagenous soft tissue in arterial walls. The hyperelastic material model, called Holzapfel-Gasser-Ogden material, is based on the article: Holzapfel, G. A., Gasser, T. C., & Ogden, R. W. (2000). A new constitutive framework for arterial wall mechanics and a comparative study of material models. Journal of elasticity, 61(1), 1-48.
This model is included as an example in the following products:Nonlinear Structural Materials Module
however additional products may be needed to reproduce it. This example may be created and run using components from the following product combinations:
- COMSOL Multiphysics® and
- Nonlinear Structural Materials Module and
- either the Acoustics Module, MEMS Module, or Structural Mechanics Module
