Backwards compatibility and COMSOL Server

I have a floating network license for COMSOL Multiphysics as installed and managed on our high performance computing cluster. I was wondering about the backwards compatibility of the version of COMSOL installed on the cluster with that used by a user. If a user develops a model in version 5.0 and connects to the cluster, running version 6.0, to run the simulation for example, will this work? Or do both the user and the server need to run the same version of COMSOL Multiphysics?
