Dividing a time dependent analysis into smaller parts

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello again,

I have a few simple questions on COMSOL 3.5a, and I would be glad for any help on these questions.

My questions are:

1) Is it possible to run time dependent solving procedure into multiple times and store the data in the same fem structure? Ex: My time frame for a simulation is 48 hours, so can I divide the simulation into eight 6-hour parts and merge the solution data into one fem structure?

I know I can use the last value of a simulation as the initial condition of a new simulation, but what I want is to be able to divide the simulation into smaller parts so that I can run the simulation only in weekends on our workstation, and my simulation takes more than 2 days in real time.

2) If i can divide the simulation like I explained above, would it also solve my "out of memory" problems? Because it seems as my simulation time gets longer, I certainly run out of memory at one point.

Thanks in advance,
ODT
