The COMSOL Conference 2013 Bangalore is just two months away, and as always, it promises to be an activity-filled affair, with over a hundred user presentations, twenty plus minicourses, and four very interesting keynote talks. This is our 9th annual COMSOL Conference, and the keynotes represent the diverse spectrum of COMSOL users in India. Here is a sneak peek into this year’s keynote talks.

Keynote Talks at the COMSOL Conference 2013 Bangalore

Mr. Suresh Arikapudi of Tata Motors will talk about the various challenges faced during automobile electrification. He will give us an overview of the approach followed by Tata Motors, and how simulations support them in this endeavor.

While Mr. Arikapudi will give us a manufacturing perspective, Mr. Chandramohan from HCL Technologies will talk about the simulation services they have provided to optimize medical product development, such as infusion devices, cardiovascular inserts, and orthopedic implants. He will talk about how simulation has been used in several aspects of product development, such as field failure analysis, cost optimization, and regulatory validation, to name a few.

Mr. K. K. Rajan from the Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR) will discuss in his presentation the use of simulation in various aspects of designing the Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR). Attendees will also be treated to a keynote held by Dr. Amit Gupta from IIT Delhi, who will talk about the varied utilities and challenges of the now ubiquitous Lithium-ion batteries. He will highlight how simulation is being used by his research team to optimize electrode materials and extract better performance from Li-ion batteries.

In short, we will have four different perspectives during our keynote sessions during the conference in Bangalore this October. Come listen to how simulation fits into the different areas of manufacturing, services, fundamental research, and cutting edge academic research.
